Cindy Franz is running for the office of South Miami City Commission, Group II.
Franz has been a resident of South Miami since 1991. She attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, earning a BS in 1979, and ABA Paralegal School in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1982. She has been the Director of Operations of ComReal International, Inc. for 35 years. The ComReal Companies is a commercial real estate franchisor and over the years, she has been involved in all its operations. The ComReal Companies presently has four active franchises in South Florida. Her responsibilities now include overseeing the day to day operations of three of the franchisees. This includes licensing, systems, and accounting. “Working for such a unique commercial real estate company, I have had the opportunity to learn and understand commercial development, commercial leasing, commercial sales, commercial asset management, commercial property manager, commercial brokerage operations.” Prior to that she was a real estate paralegal and a teacher in Miami Dade County. She has a State of Florida Active Real Estates Salesman License for ComReal Management Services, LLC, and is a Notary Public, State of Florida through 2022. During her son’s school years, she was involved in the PTA at West Lab Elementary, South Miami Middle School and South Miami High School. She has also volunteered in the LEAD Program which was the adult literacy program that was sponsored by the Miami Dade Library System and served on the Foster Care Review Board. She was an Active Member of Rock City Chapter 2, Eastern Star, Masonic Organization, in Nashville, Tennessee.
1. What prompted you to run for office?
“I love the City of South Miami and want to be part of its future.”
2. What do you think the most important or urgent issues are for the City of South Miami?
“The City of South Miami is an extremely unique city. It is a wonderful small town in a large
metropolitan county. As population becomes more dense, South Miami needs to retain its own character and maintain affordable home ownership for families. Also for our children, families and elderly residents, traffic calming is of the utmost importance.”
3. Why do you think you are the best person for the job?
“My love for the City of South Miami with my 35 years in commercial real estate / planned development can assist the city in maintaining its unique charm in Miami Dade County.”
