CITY OF MIRAMAR HOSTS FREE CONCERT TO CELEBRATE ECUADOR’S INDEPENDENCE DAY ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10TH

Today, the City of Miramar’s Economic Development and Revitalization department announced that it will host a special concert commemorating Ecuador’s Independence Day featuring the famous ‘violin virtuoso’ of Ecuador

Jorge Saade and world-renowned pianist Juan Carlos Escudero. The city is partnering with the Broward County Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) and the Consulate General of Ecuador in Miami to celebrate the occasion.

Observed annually on the 10th of August, Ecuadorian Independence Day is a holiday that marks Ecuador’s capital city of Quito’s declaration of independence from Spain on this date in 1809. This holiday is Ecuador’s National Day and is known as “Día del Primer Grito de Independencia de Quito” in Spanish (The day of the first declaration of independence of Quito).

The FREE concert will take place at the Miramar Cultural Center located at 2400 Civic Center Place, Miramar, FL 33025 on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 6pm to 9pm.

Anita Fain Taylor, Director of Miramar’s Economic Development and Revitalization department stated, “It’s such an honor to partner with Broward’s OESBD and the Ecuadorian Consulate in Miramar to celebrate this momentous occasion with Ecuadorian nationals living in South Florida. Miramar is such a diverse and welcoming city, and we look forward to hosting a great event headlined by top Ecuadorian musicians at our beautiful Miramar Cultural Center.”
