Miami-Dade County School Board member Mari Tere Rojas, joined by superintendent Dr. Jose Dotres and Coral Gables Mayor Vince Lago, recently conducted her second town hall meeting of the 2021-22 school year at Ponce de Leon Middle School.

The town hall highlighted schools and student accomplishments in the Coral Gables area through musical performances, school exhibits, and awards. In addition, the event provided valuable information to members of the community on topics such as safety and security, mental health, academics, and building facilities.

“After two years, I was so excited to host an in-person town hall in the city of Coral Gables,” Rojas said. “I also had the opportunity to introduce our new superintendent to community members. I am thankful to all the families who took the time to attend such a great event.

“During the event, attendees also enjoyed informative presentations on topics that affect their communities and had opportunities to voice their concerns. I’d like to thank everyone involved in making this event possible,” Rojas added.
