The City of Fort Lauderdale is pleased to announce the new location for its Community Court program, which will operate from Operation Sacred Trust’s premises for the foreseeable future. The Community Court program aims to address the needs of homeless individuals, low-level first-time and repeated misdemeanants, as well as municipal ordinance offenders. Operation Sacred Trust has generously offered its space, located at 201 SE 2nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301, free of charge to support this important initiative.

Due to the closure of City Hall following April’s flooding, the City of Fort Lauderdale needed to find an alternate location to continue providing essential services through the Community Court program. Recognizing the urgency and significance of this program, Operation Sacred Trust stepped forward to offer their space, ensuring uninterrupted access to justice and support for the community.

The Community Court program will officially commence at the new location on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, and will operate from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This program serves as a vital resource for homeless individuals, first-time offenders, and those facing low-level misdemeanors or municipal ordinance violations. By providing an alternative to traditional courtrooms, Community Court offers an opportunity for individuals to address the underlying causes of their legal issues while connecting them with appropriate resources and services.

City officials express their deep appreciation to Operation Sacred Trust for their generous support and collaboration in making this new location possible. By offering their facility at no cost, Operation Sacred Trust demonstrates a strong commitment to the well-being and betterment of the Fort Lauderdale community.

All stakeholders, community members, and interested individuals are invited to attend the opening of the Community Court program at Operation Sacred Trust’s location. It will serve as an opportunity to learn more about this vital program and the services it provides to address the needs of homeless individuals and those entangled in low-level legal matters.
