Cornerstone Church in Cutler Bay will host a food truck festival on Sunday, Apr. 10, on the church grounds at 20740 Old Cutler Rd. There will be a Kid’s Easter Scavenger Hunt at 10 a.m. and the food trucks will be operating from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Food trucks participating are: Taco Negro, Erre Ice Cream, Don Mofongo, Bohemian Kitchen and Cuban Guys.
Pastor Elyse Milligan Nielsen invites everyone in the community to attend.
“Festivities start at 10 a.m. on April 10th during our worship service,” Pastor Elyse said.
“Kids and kids-at-heart can go on a scavenger hunt that outlines the key events from scripture that we celebrate during Holy Week. Race to find one clue that leads to an object that then propels the story further.
“No fifteen minute sermon this week. The scavenger hunt takes the place of a customary sermon. This all-ages together worship style supports Cornerstone’s core values of community, celebration, creativity, and being Christ-centered.”
Cornerstone Church was started in 2015 through the merger of two long-standing congregations — Perrine-Peters United Methodist Church and Cutler Ridge United Methodist Church. Pastor Elyse champions learning while leading, spiritual development, community involvement, faith with practical life applications and love of God’s people everywhere.
“After worship, around 11a.m., folks can order up scrumptious food from any of the five food trucks, connect with each other, and play lawn games,” Pastor Elyse said. “At each table, guests can scan a QR code to sign up online for Community Groups, which are hobby groups, dinner party groups or Christian study groups, or discover more about our inter-faith justice ministry PACT, food distribution, and Cornerstone Kids Preschool. We’re located at the corner of Marlin and Old Cutler road in Cutler Bay. Let’s celebrate together.”
