Cutler Bay schedules 4th of July events at Whispering Pines Park

The town’s 54th annual Cutler Bay/Whispering Pines 4th of July Celebration and Parade is scheduled for Monday, July 4, from 9 a.m. to noon at Whispering Pines Park, 8800 Ridgeland Dr.

The popular parade will see people lining up along the parade route to watch as residents walking, riding bicycles and in patriotic decorated golf carts traverse the roads that go south from Whispering Pines Elementary School, around the lake and back to Whisper Pines Park where the cook-out and picnic will take place.

At the park there will be inflatables for the youngsters, music, face painting, interactive arts and crafts, and snow cones.

Event schedule:
8 a.m. — Parade lineup begins. Walkers, bicycles and golf carts line up on SW 89th Road. Vehicles and parade floats line up on SW 190th Street.
9 a.m. — Parade promptly begins.
10 a.m. to noon — Picnic at Whispering Pines Park.
10 a.m. — National Anthem by Samantha Zaitman and Town Council remarks at stage.
11:15 a.m. — Fly-over by U.S. Air Force (weather permitting).

“Additionally, the town is partnering with the Village of Palmetto Bay’s evening celebration that will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Palmetto Bay Village Hall, with a fireworks show and other activities,” said Desiree Ducasa, town communications manager.
