Members of the GFWC Cutler Ridge Woman’s Club (CRWC) opened their meeting season with a Halloween theme, “The Do-Good Witches,” serving the South Dade Community “as best as we can.”

The club meets monthly at Cutler Ridge Park, and still managed to get together during the pandemic via Zoom meetings. Members help the community with a number of special projects, gathering toys for children, toiletry articles for veterans, and making special craft items to donate to worthy causes.

Their meeting also was the occasion for a special recognition. The club presented only its second Honorary Club Membership to Miami-Dade Police Department’s Cutler Bay Unit Officer Flerida Renteria.

“Officer Renteria has been an active attendee at all our meetings for the past two years and participated in all our events,” said CRWC president Jean Tong-Noon. “We take bestowing this award seriously and the only other recipient of the Honorary Membership is County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.”

Anyone thinking of joining the CRWC can get information by sending an email to gfwc.crwc1956@gmail.com.
