Town Of Davie Fire Rescue Department Receives The American Heart Association’s 2024 Mission: Lifeline EMS Gold With Target: Heart Attack Honor Roll Achievement Award

The Town of Davie Fire Rescue Department has been awarded the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® EMS Gold award for the fifth consecutive year. The Target Heart Attack Honor Roll Achievement award is a new criterion this year that the department was able to achieve.

The Mission: Lifeline’s EMS Gold award recognizes the commitment and dedication of emergency service personnel and organizations in providing rapid on-scene and research-based care to patients experiencing the most severe form of heart attacks and strokes. The Target Heart Attack Honor Roll Achievement award highlights the collaboration and contributions of both prehospital and hospital providers. This time-critical award level is limited to agencies that provide patient transport to STEMI-receiving and STEMI-referring centers.

“Davie Fire Rescue is honored to be recognized by the American Heart Association for the dedication and hard work of our personnel, underscoring our ongoing efforts to provide optimal care for heart attack and stroke patients in our community,” said Fire Rescue Chief Jorge Gonzalez “The Mission: Lifeline program puts proven knowledge and guidelines to work on a daily basis, so patients have the best possible chance of survival.”

Mission: Lifeline EMS® is the American Heart Association’s national initiative to advance the system of care for patients with high-risk, time-sensitive disease states, such as severe heart attacks and strokes. The program helps reduce barriers to prompt treatment — starting from when 911 is called, to EMS transport and continuing through hospital treatment and discharge. Optimal care for heart attack and stroke patients takes coordination between the individual prehospital providers and health care systems.
