On Friday, August 1, 2025, School Board Member Danny Espino, District 5, joined Hialeah Councilwoman Melinda De La Vega, Councilman Jesus Tundidor, and Councilwoman Monica Perez to host the South Hialeah Back-to-School Bash at South Hialeah Elementary School.
The event, held exclusively for currently enrolled South Hialeah Elementary families, provided students with free backpacks and essential school supplies to help them begin the 2025–2026 academic year with confidence and readiness.
Thanks to the generosity of community partners, including RPA Consultants, K12 Governmental Consultants, and MegaTV, the event was a tremendous success and a heartwarming reminder of the power of community support in education.
“It was a joy to welcome our families and help our students feel prepared for the school year ahead,” said Board Member Espino. “These events are more than giveaways—they are a message to our students that their success is our shared priority.”
The South Hialeah Back-to-School Bash is part of a broader District 5 initiative to ensure educational readiness and community engagement across Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
