Doral Unveils the new “Stephen Musolino Way”

The City of Doral celebrated the co-designation NW 34th Street between NW 79th Avenue and NW 77th Court on Jan. 15 as, “Stephen Musolino Way.” Public officials and members of the public gathered for the ceremony at 3435 NW 79th Avenue in Doral.

Stephen Musolino is credited for leading the development of the Tile District on NW 79th Avenue, now known as the Doral Décor District. He was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy, and in 1974 he moved to Miami to start a business.

Shortly after he became known as the pioneer in the Italian ceramic tile industry with his products shipping directly to distributors from Italy and other countries. Still operating in the same location for over 30 years, Musolino was the founder and owner of Casa Linda Tile & Marble, now managed by his son.

Stephen Musolino passed away in July 2017 with his children by his side. As one of the first to import ceramic tiles from Italy to the U.S., and for leading to shape the business landscape of the NW 79th Tile District corridor, his legacy will live on and remain remembered through this street designation by the city.
