Louis M. Ferreira, chair, president and CEO of Eastern National Bank in Miami, has been named to the board of directors of the Florida Bankers Association.
Nominated by their peers to serve on the board, bankers are selected based on their service to the FBA, community involvement and geographic region.
“I’m humbled, privileged and honored to serve on the Florida Bankers Association board of directors,” Ferreira said. “I’m looking forward to working with the board to advance the interests of Florida’s financial community, better define banking standards across our state, and serve as an active voice for the South Florida banking community and the customers we serve.”
Individual board members have a wide range of responsibilities, including meeting with congressional leaders and federal regulators, addressing important issues facing the Florida banking industry, and supporting the organization’s educational and public service missions. The FBA serves as the primary resource through which Florida financial service providers work in unity to influence the state and federal legal regulatory environment in which they serve their customers.
Established in 1888, the Florida Bankers Association is one of the state’s oldest trade associations, with more than 150 member institutions of all sizes. The FBA advocates on behalf of its member banks, of all sizes, in order to maximize their ability to compete, serve customers and positively contribute to the economic well-being of Florida. The FBA board works to set policy and oversee the general operation of the association.
Eastern National Bank is a 53-year-old full-service financial institution located at 9700 S. Dixie Hwy., Suite 710, Miami, FL 33156, offering a variety of retail, commercial, and international banking services. For more information, visit www.enbfl.com.
