EdFed hosted a week-long community open house at their Miramar Park Place branch to celebrate their arrival as a new member of the local business community. Senior credit union officials and other representatives were joined by esteemed community leaders including a delegation from the City of Miramar led by Mayor Wayne Messam and Commissioners Yvette Colbourne and Maxwell Chambers.

EdFed’s President and CEO Mike DiBenedetto spoke at the event, emphasizing the credit union’s mission to educate and empower members as a not-for-profit financial institution. In his remarks, DiBenedetto expressed EdFed’s strong commitment to supporting local residents with financial education and solutions.

“At EdFed, we make it our mission to help our members achieve their financial dreams,” commented DiBenedetto. “Miramar is a dynamic and thriving city that was the perfect place to open our first branch in Broward County.”

Mayor Messam expressed his enthusiasm for EdFed’s new location at Miramar Park Place, located at the intersection of Miramar Parkway and Red Road.

“We are really excited to have EdFed here to provide financial services for our community and community organizations. Just listening to the lineup of the great services and great rates that you have, I think it’s going to be a great partnership.” Mayor Messam also added, “We know that all of your members are definitely going to benefit. In fact, all of your members will soon also include the mayor. So I’m looking forward to becoming a member of EdFed.”

Mayor Messam also conducted a ceremonial ribbon-cutting to celebrate the new branch.
