FFWC District 11 presents Volunteer of Year awards
Florida Federation of Women’s Clubs District 11 Volunteers of the Year are (l-r): Carol Ann Medina, Marti Bueso, Elizabeth Fisher, District Director Brenda Merrill, Metris Batts and Pat Vegnani.

The Florida Federation of Women’s Clubs (FFWC) District 11 met at the Coral Gables Clubhouse on Feb. 22 for its yearly Arts and Crafts competition.

Sixty five pieces were entered by the various clubs in a range of categories which included photography, ceramics, glass works, beading, recycling, sewing and knitted products.

The meeting also was an opportunity for the presentation of Volunteer of the Year awards.

“Representing the Cutler Ridge Woman’s Club (CRWC) was Carol Ann Medina for her outstanding spirit in helping others in her community,” said Jean Tong-Noon, CRWC president. “From Miami Springs was Elizabeth Fisher, who also is heavily involved with children with cancer and spent many tireless days feeding and supporting the emergency workers during the Surfside building collapse.”

Elizabeth will go onto to represent District 11 as Volunteer of the year when all 14 FFWC clubs meet at the Spring Convention in Orlando.

The Cutler Ridge Woman’s Club is one of the longest running organizations in Cutler Bay.

The pandemic has made meetings and other activities more difficult, but has not stopped their efforts. For information contact them by email at GFWC.CRWC1956@gmail.com.
