First Lady of Venezuela visits Doral

Fabiana Rosales de Guaido, journalist, social media human rights activist and wife of Juan Guaido who is claimant to the presidency of Venezuela, visited Value Store It in Doral. The store is one used by Patricia Andrade, founder and executive director of the Venezuela Awareness Foundation.

Patricia uses the facility to collect, store, and ship supplies on a regular basis to help the people who are in such great need under Maduro. Patricia Andrade, a legend in the community for her work, and her volunteers were lauded by Fabiana for their efforts to help the Venezuelan community. Kudos to Value Store It for also providing the donation of units when needed for this ongoing effort.

On the business front, Profit Inc., one of the oldest business networking groups in South Florida, recently gathered at Shulas Hotel & Resort in Miami Lakes for a lovely networking event sponsored by Anchor Roofing.

Anchor Roofing’s Pete Riley, Bill Garzia and staff were all there to enjoy the evening with Profit members in the beautiful restaurant area overlooking the courtyard. Profit members have businesses all over South Florida and meet twice a month on Thursday at the 94th Aero Squadron for lunch.

While it is not a service club, members are very philanthropic serving on many boards. In fact, several members serve on the boards of the Scleroderma Foundation, Rotary and GFWC CGWC Woman’s Club. Members also participate in activities for A Safe Haven for Newborns and numerous other walks and non-profit activities to learn more about this dynamic group, visit www.profitinc.org

Local Doral business owner, Arely Ruiz, of Arely PR, is working with one of Profit Inc’s members, the dual pianist, composer and entertainers Kirk Whipple and Marilyn Morales. The very talented have lots in the works right now.

In fact, Marilyn has written an amazing new musical that will touch the hearts of all. Titled, Always Remember, the music is unforgettable as is the tale Marilyn tells in music and lyrics of her homeland, Cuba. Furthermore, the musical was recently awarded a $50,000 grant from the State of Florida and will be looking for additional support. This is a great opportunity to invest in the performing arts for a musical that is sure to be on Broadway in the future.

By the way, Dragonfly held an amazing $20 wine tasting event recently with a very entertaining lecturer who gave out lots of wine bottles as prizes. This writer and many others enjoyed  sampling wines served at the restaurant after which many stayed for dinner and had their $20 cerdited toward their meal. Sign me up if they ever do this again. They really know how to treat you there. Returning a week later for a birthday dinner, we were treated to a bottle that made the celebration even more festive.

Thanks guys and keep us posted on future events.

Finally, the Business Forum Group in Doral members enjoyed a lovely reception at AC Hotel in Doral and yet another on July 18 at Doral Lincoln. These are two of many Business Multiplier events that Pete De La Torre orchestrates for BFG members providing all with excellent opportunities to connect. Next Month’s BFG Multiplier will be at Pisco y Nazca in Downtown Doral on September 12. For more information on BFG, visit www.doralbizforum.com.

Until next time, keep making each day count.
