Florida Medical Center and North Shore Medical Center Names Barbara Kalasunas a Tenet Hero

    Special honor is part of Tenet Healthcare’s annual recognition program

    Lauderhill,  Fl. March 26th, 2021 announced today that Barbara Kalasunas, who is the Employee Health RN at Florida Medical Center and North Shore Medical Center,  has been honored by Tenet Healthcare as part of its annual recognition program. Barbara has been named a “Tenet Hero” for her incredible contributions in 2020.

    The Tenet Heroes program celebrates those individuals who make a meaningful impact within their respective communities that goes above and beyond their daily job responsibilities. Nominated by fellow colleagues, Tenet Heroes exemplify the company’s core values and key tenets of its Community Built on Care. 

    Barbara has a passion for nursing, inspiring everyone around her.  Aside from her knowledge and experience as an occupational health nurse, she has a can do and will do, spirit. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Barbara went from overseeing one hospital to splitting her time between two hospitals, Florida Medical Center and North Shore Medical Center, covering everything from onboarding new hires, to ensuring compliance with CDC guidelines for reporting of COVID positive employees, as well as making sure all reporting requirements were met.
