Miami-Dade and Broward counties are leading the charge when it comes to electric vehicle growth in Florida.

The latest data from research group IHS Markit shows both counties lead the state with more than 67,000 electric vehicle registrations this year, making Florida the 2nd largest state in the country in this field.1

With more EV drivers on the road, Florida Power and Light Company’s EVolution® program is expanding its public charging stations, opening two new fast chargers in Doral and Coconut Creek.

  • The station in Doral is located at 7780 NW 25th Street, right off the Palmetto Expressway.
  • The station in Coconut Creek is located at 4690 North State Road 7, right off the Sawgrass Expressway.

Each station features four charging ports, which can power up most EVs in about a half hour.

The new Doral amenity is the latest addition to the Shoppes at MICC near the Palmetto, while Coconut Creek is part of the Village Shoppes near the Sawgrass. Both sites offer EV drivers the convenience of plugging in while they visit a local eatery or do some shopping.

These locations are among the more than 70 new public fast charging stations FPL is adding across its service area this year to give EV drivers more confidence on the road.
