University of Miami alumna and internationally acclaimed soprano Sandra Lopez Neill recently returned to UM to perform.
After performing around the world, Lopez was appointed to the Frost faculty in 2019. As COVID restricted live performances, they were put on hold but things are getting back to normal.
On Apr. 25, Lopez Neill performed at UM Gusman Concert Hall for her first faculty recital since her Frost appointment. She shared the stage with Drama Desk winner and Frost Professor Alan Johnson on piano. Lopez and Johnson’s program garnered well-deserved standing ovations as well as an encore.
The performance included operatic repertoire from signature roles created by Lopez’s MET Opera performances that evoked strong emotions and displayed her amazing talent.
