The Florida men’s golf team coined the phrase ‘Moving Day’ and shot 10-under in round two at the Isleworth Collegiate on Monday.

Entering the day 13 strokes back from Auburn, Florida cut the lead to eight strokes after 36 holes with a team score of 278 (-10). UF remains in second-place and is one of three schools – Auburn (-20) and Purdue (-2) – to be under-par for the tournament.

The Gators found its stride after the lineup was +2 through the first two holes. Fred Biondi and Quentin Debove erased their bogeys on two and posted rounds of 69 (-3) and 67 (-5). Biondi went birdie on four straight holes (7-10) and had five in six holes (5-10) to jump 18 spots with a 69 (-3) into T26. The round cut seven strokes off his round one score of 76 (+4).

Debove’s round of 67 (-5) was two strokes back from his career-low he set in the fall opener this season and one back from lowest of the tournament with Auburn’s Alex Vogelsong. The round marked his second under this outing as he is tied for 3rd and three shots back from the lead.

Yuxin Lin recorded the second lowest round and third in the 60s. He was 3-under on the front and was 5-under through 11 holes. The lefty shot a 68 (-4) to sit T9 and 3-under overall. Two strokes back from Lin is John DuBois at T13.

Redshirt-freshman Matthew Kress was able to close out his round strong this time around to go -2 (70) and into the top-20 at T18. Among the two other individuals competing, he has an 11-storke and 13-stroke advantage.

Ricky Castillo’s 74 (+2) was the fourth counting score for Florida, a three-stroke improvement from yesterday’s opening round.

Florida tees off tomorrow at 9:40 a.m. E.T. at Isleworth Country Club to wrap up the fall slate.
