Get into spirit of the season: Ghost tours at Deering Estate
Summon up the spirits that haunt the Deering Estate.

Known as one of the most haunted places in South Florida, the Deering Estate offers a series of ghost tours where guests can step into the past and explore the history of the estate.

Guides will share stories of historic events, insights into previous inhabitants and the record of paranormal activity experienced by visitors and staff. Walking the same paths that Indigenous People, Miami’s early settlers, and even Charles Deering have walked as we navigate the moments that linger.

Participants should dress comfortably – closed toe shoes, bring your own flashlight, and mosquito repellent is recommended. Equipment used to detect paranormal activity – such as pendulums, dowsing rods, EMF meters have limited availability. Cameras and your own paranormal equipment are welcome. This program is for adults and youth ages 9 and older.

Ghost tour dates are Sept. 5, 12, 19 and 26. Cost is $40 per person. Additional dates are Oct. 3, 10, 17 and 24. Cost is $45 per person. Tickets can be purchased online at https://miamidadeparks.com. Space is limited.

The Deering Estate, located at 16701 SW 72 Ave. in Palmetto Bay, is a 21st Century house museum, cultural and ecological field station, and a national landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places, owned by the State of Florida and managed by Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department.
