Giardino Gourmet Salads thanks teachers with free salads, wraps

Giardino Gourmet Salads, the premiere South Florida-based fast casual concept focused on garden-to-bowl nutrition, is celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week by offering nearly 7,000 Miami-Dade and Broward County teachers a free salad, wrap or grain bowl in gratitude for the important contributions that teachers make across South Florida every day. The offer continues through Friday, June 8.

“We have all had a teacher that has made a difference in our lives and our Giardino Gourmet Salads owners are no exception,” said Ody Lugo, founder and board member of Giardino Gourmet Salads. “This idea, which was initiated by our individual restaurant owners, was in response to their overwhelming desire to give back to the dedicated and passionate teachers in their communities.

“As a former Miami-Dade County teacher, I know firsthand that teachers across South Florida unconditionally spend hundreds of thousands of dollars of their own money every year to improve their classrooms and enrich the lives of their students,” Lugo added. “This small gesture is just a simple way for us to say thank you for their incredible commitment to our communities and for planting the seeds of knowledge.”

Participating Giardino Gourmet Salad area locations include:
Brickell, 175 SE 13 St.; Coral Gables, 2346 Ponce de Leon Blvd.; Doral (West), 11402 NW 41 St.; Downtown Doral, 5241 NW 87 Ave.;
Downtown Miami, 169 E. Flagler St.; Kendall, 11624 N. Kendall Dr.; Palmetto Bay, 14455 S. Dixie Hwy., and South Miami, 6653 S. Dixie Hwy.

Giardino Gourmet Salads began with a vision in 2004 by founders Ody and Kenny Lugo, a former Miami-Dade County teacher and Miami-Dade County firefighter respectively. Today, Giardino Gourmet Salads menu includes globally inspired salads, wraps, grain bowls, soups and sandwiches.
