“Global Awareness of Miami’s Art & Cultural Assets” will be the next topic in The Villagers’ free monthly “Preserving Our Community” webinar series. The one-hour Zoom program will be held at noon, on Wednesday, Mar. 16. Participants must register in advance online at https://thevillagersinc.org/villagers-lunch-and-learn/.
The webinar will feature guest speaker John Copeland, director of Cultural Tourism for Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, who also will give a preview of Miami’s Museum Month, beginning in April.
“Miami is an exciting hub for arts and culture,” said Villager Susan Medina, moderator of the webinar. “John will showcase how we can use Miami’s rich heritage and many cultural influences to support our preservation interests.”
Preservation topics are being showcased during a series of free monthly, lunch and learn preservation webinars, hosted by The Villagers, featuring experts on a variety of issues significant to Miami-Dade County.
The Villagers is Miami-Dade County’s oldest historic preservation organization, founded in 1966. The not-for-profit all-volunteer group has awarded more than 75 local organizations grants to fund 150-plus projects and hundreds of university scholarships to advance historic preservation. Through educating, advocating, fundraising, restoration, and documentation The Villagers work to preserve the cultural and architectural heritage of local historic sites and neighborhoods.
