GFWC Coral Gables Woman’s Club’s Gringo Bingo hosted by Clutch Burger is always a fun night, as it serves to support numerous charities.
But the December one proved special for 8-year-old Alana Contesse Quintero. Alana attended the Dec. 7 event with her two aunts, one of whom, Al Quintero, is a CGWC member. As luck would have it, this first-time Gringo Bingo guest got a bingo and, as directed, shouted “Gringo Bingo.”
When she took her card up to Steven Bradley, Clutch owner and emcee, he verified the numbers and asked her what she wanted for Christmas. Alana said that she really wanted a computer.
Bradley surprised everyone by announcing, “Great, that is what you won!” At first, the crowd thought it was a joke but, in fact, Bradley followed through by arranging for payment with her aunts. This was such a generous gesture and certainly one that speaks to the heart of the season.
Of course, Bradley’s generosity is ongoing, hosting these monthly fundraisers for the Coral Gables Woman’s Club since 2019. Also, stepping up since the very beginning to provide music for these events is DJ Germain. Thanks to these two, the club’s numerous sponsors and the businesses that donate prizes, tens of thousands have been raised for the CGWC free children’s dental clinic and numerous other charitable programs and organizations throughout Miami-Dade County.
