During the Florida Language Association’s (FFLA’s) annual convention in Kissimmee earlier this fall, Tzu-yu Zoe Chen was presented with the FFLA Most Valuable Teacher award for her teaching of Mandarin Chinese at Gullliver Preparatory School.
Her role as a language teacher is incredibly important, since one quarter of the world’s population speaks Chinese and it is the fastest growing language studied in the U.S. The lessons taught by Tzu-yu Zoe Chen at Gullliver are presented in an easy and enjoyable form, which her students find appealing. In fact, this year, Tzu-yu Zoe Chen led Gulliver Schools’s Chinese team to host the 11th Florida Statewide Chinese Competition, which drew almost 400 students from across the state. As a result, she was recognized for her dedication to excellence and passion for education.
