The City of Coral Gables is presenting for City Commission approval the proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2019-20, which begins Oct. 1. The second of two budget public hearings is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 20, at 5:01 p.m. in the City Hall Commission Chambers.
The proposed balanced budget is estimated at approximately $229 million, which will fund about $48 million in capital projects, including repairs and improvements to city facilities, historic repairs and restorations of city landmarks, parking improvements, purchase of green space and improvements to existing parks, transportation infrastructure, and other important upgrades to public safety.
The proposed millage rate remains at 5.559, the same rate since 2016.
