The Miami Heat delivered a commanding victory against the New York Knicks, taking control of the series lead with a 105-86 victory. This win was a result of a combination of factors, including the return of Jimmy Butler and the Heat’s determination to provide more energy and effort on the court.
Butler, who had nearly a week of recovery after rolling his ankle in game 1, was back in the lineup and led the Heat to victory with his 28 points. The Heat also had solid performances from Max Strus with 19 points, Bam Adebayo with 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Kyle Lowry with his 14 points.
Despite a lopsided victory, the Heat had an abysmal shooting night, with only 38% from the field and 21% from three. However, the Knicks were unable to capitalize on their shooting woes, finishing the game with only 34% from the field and 20% from three.
The Heat led the entire way, with the Knicks unable to take the lead at any point during the game. However, a late scramble between Cody Zeller and Julius Randle added some excitement to the matchup, renewing the Heat/Knicks rivalry that was prominent during the many playoff series throughout the 90’s.
The Knicks were led by Jalen Brunson with 20 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds, followed by Josh Hart with 15 points and 12 rebounds, and RJ Barret with his 14 points. However, their efforts were not enough to overcome the defensive prowess of the Heat.
With this victory, the Heat are now undefeated in the Kaseya Center throughout the playoffs and will aim to take another commanding 3-1 lead against the Knicks in their next matchup on Monday night. It will be interesting to see how the Knicks respond to this loss and whether they will be able to bounce back against a determined Miami Heat team.
