The Village of Palmetto Bay once again will host its annual “Holiday by the Bay” at Ludovici Park on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 3 to 7 p.m. One of the village’s most popular events, it attracted more than 3,000 residents, neighbors, and friends in 2015.
Jackie Calzadilla, the village’s public information officer, said the party will feature some new elements this year.
“We will be having surprise musical performances and character meet and mingle throughout the event,” Calzadilla said. “This year we have more than 12 performances by local area schools and other groups and a new component this year is a car show organized by Benefic Car Show, along with a toy drive benefiting Toys for Tots. We are asking the public to bring unwrapped toys to the event.”
Besides the student performances, Holiday by the Bay will have a cheery blend of delicious foods, arts and crafts, a mini-midway with rides and inflatibles, pictures with Santa, and surprise performances. Returning will be the faux snowstorm starting at 6 p.m.
Parks and Recreation director Fanny Carmona said she is looking forward to the event once again.
“It takes a village to host our Holiday by the Bay event each year,” Carmona said. “We are grateful for the support of all the student performers, such as Mrs. Baggs’ students from Howard Drive Elementary and participation by so many local vendors.”
Ludovici Park is located at 17641 Old Cutler Rd. For information visit the village’s website at www.palmettobay-fl.gov or call 305-259-1234.
