Historic Holiday Décor: The Gilded Age
Daily, Nov. 26, 2021 to Jan. 6, 2022, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Visitors can tour the historic houses at the Deering Estate as they come alive with holiday accents and festive decorations that will transport visitors to the glamor and elegance of the Gilded Age. Holiday décor will be featured in each room of the Deering Estate’s historic Mediterranean-revival Stone House (1922) and pioneer era Richmond Cottage (1896). The holiday decorating program is a beloved annual tradition and features some of South Florida’s top interior designers, led by Deering Estate Designer in Residence, Alfredo Brito.
This year, guests of the Deering Estate’s historic holiday décor will be surrounded by a time of grace and elegance. Each room is thoughtfully decorated to illustrate the Old and New World influences of the Gilded Age and recreate a nostalgic holiday experience. Our invited designers will stimulate all your senses with the melodies of Tchaikovsky and the scents and the spices of the season that complement their intimate and grand designs.
Included with general admission: $15 for adults and $7 for children (ages 4-14). Purchase general admission tickets online. Admission is free for Deering Estate Foundation Members and children under 4 years old.
Historic Holidays Evening Strolls
December 3 & December 15, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
$15 for adults and $7 for children (ages 4-14)

Enjoy a family friendly holiday evening on Friday, December 3rd and Wednesday, December 15th. Stroll the main grounds and the Historic Holiday Décor featuring the glamour and elegance of the Gilded Age, decorated by some of South Florida’s top interior designers, led by Deering Estate Designer in Residence, Alfredo Brito.
Guests can also enjoy the warmth of a campfire and showings of holiday films! Children can bring their letters to Santa to drop off. Wrap up the night as Mrs. Claus arrives to read bedtime stories to the children. All members and non-members must purchase or reserve their tickets online in advance.
Mistletoe & Martinis
Friday, December 10, 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Tickets: Non-Members $125 per person & Deering Estate Foundation Members $100 per person. Tables of 10 also available. Limited tickets available. Purchase tickets online
The annual Mistletoe & Martinis event at the Deering Estate will recreate a nostalgic holiday experience replete with the sights, sounds, aromas and decorations from The Gilded Age. Guests will enjoy music, lavish hors d’oeuvres and desserts from some of South Florida’s finest caterers & restaurants, and a flavorful sampling of martinis. The event takes place on Friday, December 10th at 7:30 pm at the Deering Estate. All proceeds benefit The Deering Estate Foundation, raising awareness and supporting programming for community, conservation and culture.
Story-Time and Photos with Santa
Saturday, December 11, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Free with Estate admission: $15 for adults and $7 for children (ages 4-14).
Free for Deering Estate Foundation members and children under 4 years old.
Santa Claus is coming to town and he is visiting the Deering Estate! Enjoy story-time with Santa’s elves and photos with Santa (for an additional fee) inside the Great Hall. Holiday arts and crafts activities available for children.
Holiday Bay Cruise
Sunday, Dec. 12, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.
$45 per person (ages 4 & older). Purchase tickets online for the morning or afternoon cruise.
Take a break from holiday shopping and enjoy a relaxing cruise on Biscayne Bay that departs from Deering Estate on the Pelican Skipper, a comfortable riding 45 foot Corinthian catamaran. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine as you disembark and explore the grounds. Limited space available. The vessel complies with Coast Guard Regulations and is ADA accessible.
Guests must practice social distancing and wear face coverings. Please review the latest safety guidelines prior to visiting. Weather and water conditions are closely monitored prior to departure. Trips may be cancelled and rescheduled due to weather and water conditions.
Holiday Evening by the Bay
Wednesday, December 22, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
$10 per person, ages 4 & up; members & non-members.
Enjoy a special holiday edition of Evening by the Bay, an after-hours experience at Deering Estate on Wednesday, December 22nd. Pack a picnic and enjoy a drink with friends. Guests are welcome to bring blankets, chairs, and small picnic baskets.
Stroll the main grounds decorated with holiday lights and festive décor and for an additional fee, add-on access to the museum to view the Historic Holiday Décor: The Gilded Age.
Winter Camp
Two, four-day sessions: Session I: December 20-23 & Session II: December 27-30, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Children, ages 6-14, will explore and learn from nature at Deering Estate’s Winter Camp! Two, four-day sessions are available.
