Congratulations to former University of Miami defensive end Bill Hawkins who had his jersey number retired last night by South Broward High School in Hollywood, FL. Hawkins graduated from South Broward High in 1984, where he was a 2-way lineman for the Bulldogs. He went on to become a 3-year starting defensive end for the Miami Hurricanes from 1986 to 1988, earning a national championship ring as a junior and consensus All American honors as a senior. Hawkins went on to become a first round draft pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 1989, where he played four seasons. He is currently an attorney in Stuart, FL. Photo by Larry Blustein.
