South Floridians now have access to Shared Saver, the most affordable Lyft ride yet.
This new offering is an extension of the shared ride everyone has come to know –
and love. With Shared Saver, riders are asked to simply walk up to a few blocks in order to ensure drivers are taking the most efficient route to their destination (i.e., less “circling the block”).
In return, they will see fares significantly lower than Lyft’s other rideshare offerings. And because Shared Saver was developed with drivers in mind, Lyft drivers will make the same amount with Shared Saver as with standard Lyft rides, while benefiting from the increased demand for riders.
This offering has already been working well throughout out other major markets, including NYC, and will ensure South Florida riders all have access to more affordable Lyft shared rides. Getting to and from point A to point B just got easier — whether you’re going from Brickell City Center to PAMM or hotel hopping around South Beach. And with less surge pricing for Shared Saver rides, South Florida Lyft riders will always lock in lower prices.
How it works:
• Set your destination and then set your ride type to ‘Shared Saver.’
• Tap ‘Confirm pickup area’ (to see where you might be walking) to request your ride.
• When your Shared Saver is confirmed, we’ll notify you where to walk (less than a few blocks).
• Once you’re in the ride and we find your drop-off point, we’ll show you where to walk.
Why this is important:
More shared ride options means a more sustainable transportation solution, as there are less cars on the road in South Flroida. Lyft is working to alleviate traffic by investing in Shared rides, bikes, scooters, and integrating with public transit like the Brightline.
Because Shared Saver offers the predictability and consistency that many riders need, Lyft continues to fill the transportation equity gap through its commitment to accessible transportation.
