Keralty, an international medical services provider with global headquarters in Miami, has big plans for Keralty Hospital, the 125-bed facility formerly known as Westchester General Hospital located on Coral Way near the Palmetto Expressway.

Keralty Hospital, which was purchased in 2020, is a full-service hospital offering emergency services, intensive care, respiratory and physical therapy, cardiology, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, and psychological care. It also offers one of Florida’s oldest medical residency programs in family practice, as well as palliative and hospice care fellowships and podiatry residency. Keralty Hospital has 540 employees who are dedicated to putting the patient first.

“We have been focusing on providing the highest quality of care and improving every aspect of the hospital,” said Mercedes Perez, Chief Nursing Officer. “Through our medical residency and continuing education programs, our medical teams are on par with the best in Florida,” added Dr. Aimee Gonzalez, Director of Education.

According to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Abid Chaudhry, Keralty Hospital is currently undergoing a complete re-engineering of the physical environment of the hospital and the addition of top doctors and medical and administrative teams supporting care delivery. There will also be an expansion of behavioral health, advanced palliative care, and complex care for individuals with multi-chronic conditions.

“I joined Keralty about a week after the hospital was acquired and I am thrilled to be part of this fast-growing company,” says Dr. Chaudhry, who previously served the hospital’s Medical Director for the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department.
Founded in 1980, Keralty operates in eight countries and is affiliated with Sanitas Medical Centers, a health care company offering culturally relevant comprehensive care. With 57 medical centers in just the USA, it is currently servicing over 324,000 patients in five states: Florida, Texas, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Tennessee. In Florida, Sanitas has a strategic alliance with Florida Blue, a Blue Cross Blue Shield franchise, and serves more than 250,000 patients state-wide.

“We are happy to bring our Integrated Care Model to the Miami Community,” said Dr. Juan Carlos Echandia, CEO of Keralty Hospital Miami. “Our goal is to establish a patient-centered health program supporting the local community and designed to keep patients healthy, and I believe we are well on the path to making it happen.”

Keralty Hospital accepts all major health insurance and welcomes walk-in patients. To learn more about Keralty Hospital, please visit www.keraltyhospital.com or call 1-888-KERALTY (537-2589).
