The Miami Buena Vista Biltmore Lions Club delivered several donated ítems to Ronald McDonald House Charities on Thursday, April 22nd. The donated ítems consisted mostly of cereals, plates, eating utensils, paper towels, cleaning ítems, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and a flatscreen television. These ítems, identified as being of most need by Ronald McDonald House Charities, were donated by members of the Lions Club and by generous souls in our community.
Founded in 1974, Ronald McDonald House Charities allow parents who are far from home to stay close to their hospitalized child and benefit from the comforts of home without incurring hotel and food costs. Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida is located on the campus of Jackson Memorial Hospital and helps families from Vero Beach in the north to Key West in the south.
As one of the oldest Lions Clubs in South Florida, the Miami Buena Vista Biltmore (MBVB) Lions Club has served the greater Miami area since 1970. For 50 years, the Lions Club has participated in numerous service projects such as vision and diabetes screenings, health fairs, holiday toy drives, back-to-school supply distributions, and humanitarian assistance following natural disasters. For more information and to donate, please contact Cathy Triana, President of the Miami Buena Vista Biltmore Lions Club, at (305) 338-7620 or cathytriana@gmail.com.
