Merle Fogg Park Seawall Replacement Project

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with Ebsary Foundation Company to replace approximately 130 feet of City-owned seawall at Merle Fogg Park at the intersection of East Las Olas Boulevard and Poinciana Drive. The improvements made as part of this project will help reduce tidal flooding and make us better prepared for future king tide events and sea level rise. This project includes:

  • Constructing approximately 130 feet of new seawall with new sheet pile and a new concrete cap
  • Installing new stormwater infrastructure
  • Restoring pavement and landscaping

Construction will begin the week of Tuesday, September 5, 2023, and is expected to be completed in early 2024. Work will take place Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Impacts
  • No lane closures are expected as part of this project.
  • A portion of the park will be temporarily closed while it is used as a staging area.
  • Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.

Thank you for your patience as we strive to upgrade our stormwater system as quickly as possible.
