Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, from my family to yours, I extend you warm wishes for a joyous Holiday Season filled with love and community spirit. and a safe, healthy and prosperous 2024.
The heart of our city beats strong because of you. Our diversity, resilience, and unity make us who we are. ‘The City of Beauty and Progress.’ I have seen our city flourish over the years, that I have been, so honored to serve as your city of Miramar Commissioner. I am happy to report that, the state of the City of Miramar is strong.
In September we approved a balanced city budget of 300 million dollar.
Miramar is a safe city; our police and fire departments are among the best in the state of Florida. Our Water quality, that we produce, is so good, that we have bottled it. Miramar is a sustainable city, with outstanding infrastructure. Despite heavy rains, our infrastructure work, has reduce floodings in many areas.
I am honored to represent Miramar on the Broward MPO board, a transportation planning agency. Through collaboration, commitment, and advocacy, we’ve secured funding for transportation and roadway improvement projects for our cherished city of Miramar. These projects are improving the quality of life for our residents.
From East Miramar where we have built New Sidewalks, pedestrian lighting, bike lanes, infrastructure, and roadway and safety improvements to University Drive, where a project to build a pedestrian crossing bridge to improve mobility, is on the way. In West Miramar, where we built new bike lanes, sidewalk and roadway improvements, as well as a roundabout to improve traffic flow.
It was humbling, to be recognized with the “Complete Streets champion award” at the 2023, Safe Streets Summit. This award is a recognition of the City’s commitment and dedication to improving our streets, for vehicles, bicyclist and pedestrians. A recognition we can all be proud of.
There is still more work to be done. In the spirit of unity and progress, let’s continue to work together to safeguard Miramar’s place in history as the best place to live work and play.
