December was a month of excitement and activities on the campus of Miami Christian. While the Fine Arts Department presented lovely vocal and instrumental Christmas concerts, students had entertaining class parties and more fund-raising for the hurricane victims in the Bahamas.
The middle school students and teachers had lots of fun participating in a Holiday Fest night on the campus where students enjoyed Smore’s, food, laser tag, capture the flag, and other games with a time of fellowship. In addition, the students raised approximately $118 to benefit those in need in the Bahamas.
In the area of athletics, the Girl’s Basketball Team is enjoying a successful season and have been ranked number 3 in the State in Division 2A schools and number 32 amongst all teams regardless of Division. They are currently 6-2.
The school has named Darrick Carroll as its new Head Football Coach. He is currently the interim Head Coach at Miramar High School and he has also been on the coaching staffs at North Miami, Miami Norland, Miami Jackson, and Miramar.
Samuel Peralta, senior at Miami Christian, was a member of the Doral Soccer Club and was a member of the U18 Elite Finalist Championship team. He is pictured here with the certificate he received from Mayor J.C. Bermudez in recognition of being on the Finalist and Champion Team of the West Plaza Tournament.
