While Miami Christian School excels in academics, the school also boasts an impressive track record in sports. In fact, most recently Miami Christian was awarded two Floyd E. Lay Sunshine Cup All-Sports Awards by the Florida High School Athletic Association –
one for their First Place ranking in the Boys Division for all 2A schools in the state; and another for their first place ranking in the State for the school’s Overall Sports Program in Division 2A.

As the new school year starts, more of last year’s graduating class head off to college on scholarships. Brittney Rodriguez has academic scholarships offers from Stetson University and Southeastern University. Danickson Joseph will be attending St. Mary’s on scholarship and will be playing football. Meanwhile, Tyrell Page will be attending Lagrange College where he will also be playing football.

Continuing our list of achievers, Gabriela Bakos is choosing between Barry University where she was offered Merit Scholarships and St. Thomas University where she was offered academic and music scholarships. Hugo Vargas has to choose between baseball scholarships at Shorter University and Florida National University. Gonzalo Gonzalvo will be attending Young Harris University on a basketball scholarship.

In more good news for MCS, Max Preps has posted its pre-season Class 2A rankings for football in the State and the Victors are currently ranked 6th.

To prepare for the new school year, much work took place on campus over the summer at MCS. All the offices and conference room were remodeled or refreshed, and the athletic office complex was completely redone. Remodeling and expansion of numerous classrooms also were completed in time for the new school year.
