The Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department (ASD) is thrilled to announce a special adoption event on January 20, 2024, from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Medley facility, located at 7401 NW 74TH ST, Medley, FL 33166. The event encourages community members to visit our shelter pet housing facility and consider adopting a loving companion.
The first 5 adoptions of the day will receive a complimentary crate and bed to help ease the transition for their pets into their new homes. All adopters will also receive goody bags filled with essential items, including a bag of food and scoop, treats, leash and collar, grooming supplies (shampoo and brush), toys and blanket, and a chew bone.
“Come join us as we have a special adoption event for our Medley dogs. Together we can help our shelter pets find loving homes.” said Annette Jose, Director for Miami-Dade County Animal Services. “Let’s make a difference by reducing the shelter population and rehoming our stray or lost community pets.”
While ASD opened their new adoption facility in 2016, the ASD team has continued to use the Medley Facility to house dogs that need to be quarantined for medical reasons, are under medical treatment, or present behavior concerns, as well as other pets as needed. Due to overpopulation challenges, ASD has reactivated the Medley facility to temporarily house dogs for adoption. This event’s purpose is to reduce the current shelter population and find these deserving pets loving homes.
