The Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department (Animal Services) invites pet lovers and potential adopters to join a TAILgate party celebrating two of Miami’s elite puppy athletes, Payton, and Thomas, who will be featured in Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl XX. The festivities will take place on Sunday, February 11, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Pet Adoption and Protection Center located at 3599 NW 79 Avenue in Doral.

Attendees can visit the shelter and cheer on Animal Services’ stars, Payton, and Thomas, as they showcase their skills in Puppy Bowl XX. While these two puppy athletes have already found their loving forever families after their national competition, over 700 of their shelter mates are still awaiting adoption.

Beyond the adorable competition, Puppy Bowl aims to raise awareness about the thousands of shelter pets hoping to find their forever homes. Both puppies and adult dogs will be available for adoption, with waived adoption fees for pets four months and older. Adopters will be responsible for the $30 dog licensing fee, and adoption fees will be $85 for puppies and $35 for kittens. All pet adoptions include the first set of age-appropriate vaccines, microchip, deworming, and spay/neuter surgery.

“Join us at the Puppy Bowl XX Watch Party to celebrate the success of Payton and Thomas. It’s not just the cutest competition; it also shines a light on shelter pets waiting to find loving families,” said Annette Jose, Animal Services Director. “Let’s make a difference together by finding forever homes for these deserving animals.”
