The Pet Adoption and Protection Center at Miami-Dade County’s Animal Services Department (Animal Services) will receive seven new pet waste stations and 14,000 pet waste bags generously donated by The Farmer’s Dog, the leading direct-to-consumer fresh pet food company, in partnership with DoodyCalls, the leading pet waste management services brand. Additionally, the shelter will receive healthy fresh dog food for the shelter pets. A donation ceremony will take place in front of the Pet Adoption and Protection Center on October 21, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. as part of Animal Services’ MEGA Match-A-Thon pet adoption event.
“This generous donation will assist us in maintaining cleanliness and minimizing the environmental impact of our shelter pets,” said Annette Jose, Director of Miami-Dade Animal Services. “We are thankful to The Farmer’s Dog and DoodyCalls for their continued support.”
“Most of us appreciate how much dogs enhance our lives, but many people do not realize that dog poop is actually an environmental hazard and one of the major sources of conflict within residential communities,” said Aldo Centeno Co-Owner of DoodyCalls Miami. “We are, therefore, always looking for opportunities to provide our communities with sustainable solutions to help keep their residents happy while also encouraging responsible pet ownership.”
A December 2022 Forbes Advisor Survey found that cleaning up after a dog is the biggest challenge to dog ownership.
“Picking up after our pets is not only the environmentally conscious thing to do, but also part of being a responsible and considerate pet owner,” said Francisco Reyes Co-Owner of DoodyCalls, a former Coral Gables Police Officer and long-time Miami-Dade County resident. “Our residential service is akin to your lawn or pool service, with our technicians maintaining your backyard dog-waste free. We are the number 1 in the number 2 business.”
