Miami Dade College (MDC) has named Travis Jordan as Vice President for Marketing and Communications. He assumes his position on Monday, June 10.

Jordan brings to MDC more than a decade of executive experience, where he has consistently driven strategic communication initiatives that have led institutions to the forefront of branding and enrollment success.

“I am thrilled to announce Travis Jordan as the head of our Marketing and Communications division, an area of vital importance to the College,” said MDC President Madeline Pumariega. “With his multifaceted skill set in advertising, media relations, strategic messaging and brand management, as well as a proven history of transformative leadership within prestigious higher education institutions, organizations and state agencies, I am sure he will take MDC to new heights and continue to build upon The College’s successes.”

In his new role, Jordan will oversee the areas of advertising, marketing, media relations, social media and web services for MDC.

“I look forward to leveraging my expertise in enrollment marketing, community engagement and brand development to further advance MDC’s mission and strengthen its position as a global leader in higher education,” Jordan said.

Before joining MDC, Jordan worked as the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Western Carolina University where he strategically positioned the institution in regional, state and national markets.

His ample experience working within the State of Florida includes serving as Vice President of Marketing at Enterprise Florida, where he spearheaded the groundbreaking campaign, “Florida Breaks Through,” which revolutionized the state’s business landscape. While there he also created “Stories of Opportunity,” a poignant national campaign spotlighting resilient small Florida businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jordan also served as the Statewide Director of Marketing and Recruitment for the Florida Department of Education, where he executed the highly successful “Get There Florida” campaign, aimed at championing workforce education statewide and enrolling students in programs for in-demand fields. He also worked at esteemed higher education institutions including Broward College, Tallahassee Community College, Florida State University and the University of South Florida – all institutions where he cemented his reputation as a higher education marketing and communications professional.
