Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Commissioner Marleine Bastien bring new air conditioning units to public housing residents in District 2

Today, March 20th, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Miami-Dade County Commissioner Marleine Bastien will visit Gwen Cherry 15, one of the County’s public housing developments, to celebrate the installation of new air conditioning units.

Although air conditioning is not federally mandated for public housing developments, last year Mayor Levine Cava announced a multi-million-dollar investment to install 1,700 energy-efficient air conditioning units to ensure the safety and comfort of public housing residents. These brand-new air conditioners will be provided to residents free of charge.
