WHAT:
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, in collaboration with the Board of County Commissioners and Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) Director Ralph Cutié, is set to lead a groundbreaking ceremony for the innovative Park 6 garage at Miami International Airport. This state-of-the-art facility, boasting 2,200 spaces spread across seven levels, comes at an investment of $136 million. Scheduled for completion in late 2025, the garage aims to be a pivotal solution to the increasing demand for parking options at MIA. The strategic location adjacent to the existing Flamingo garage promises to substantially enhance parking availability for both passengers and employees.
In alignment with a commitment to sustainable practices, the new garage will feature forward-thinking elements, including 50 spaces dedicated to electric vehicle charging, energy-efficient LED lighting fixtures, and a Parksmart Silver Certification design. This certification, a global standard, acknowledges and commends environmentally responsible and high-performing parking structures.
The Lemartec Corporation, a nationally recognized design-build construction management firm, has been contracted to design and build the new parking facility.
