Today, the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners voted to pass Mayor Levine Cava’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2024-2025.
Mayor Levine Cava released the following statement:
“I am grateful to my colleagues on the Board of County Commissioners for supporting our proposed budget. It is a fiscally responsible, accountable budget that continues to provide critical services to our residents, prepares the County for the creation of five new constitutional offices, and invests in our key priorities including housing, transit, public safety, the environment, and more.
“I want to thank all the residents who made your voices heard – we have re-programmed some funding in response to our community’s most significant concerns. We are fully funding our transit reserves, which are used to fund future transit projects. We also allocated additional funds for arts and culture programming, the Save our Seniors Program, and our eviction diversion program, which has been a lifeline for families.
“I am very proud of the work the County does each year during budget season to make sure our residents have a voice in our community’s priorities. This budget lays a strong foundation to continue building a Miami-Dade where all our residents can thrive.”
