The Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day by hosting the 3rd annual Girls Got Game event on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Tropical Park Stadium, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This free interactive event will introduce girls, ages 6-17, to various sports, including basketball, flag football, soccer, and volleyball with Parks’ event partners: The Miami Dolphins, The Miami Marlins Foundation, Twelfth Miami, Hoop Dreams of America, Barry University Track, Miami Dade College Volleyball and Volley-ON. Participants will receive instruction and coaching on how to play each sport from local athletes and coaches and hear from motivational guest speakers.

Girls Got Game provides accessible and inclusive sports experiences in parks for girls who might not otherwise have an opportunity to play these sports, with the goal of having them continue their involvement in sports into adulthood.

As part of this initiative, participants will receive their very own Girls Got Game t-shirt, as well as medals provided by Miami-Dade County Parks.

Participants must register before February 7 to participate. For more information, please contact Courtney DeStefano at Courtney.Destefano@miamidade.gov or (305) 222-2188.
