Miami Parking Authority (MPA) announced today that the Board of Directors appointed businessman Marvin Wilmoth as the board’s newest member. He succeeds attorney and longtime board member Marlon Hill.
Mr. Wilmoth is the Managing Principal of Intersection Ventures. In that capacity, he serves as a community developer and consultant focusing on housing solutions at the intersection of sound public policy and community-centered private development.
From 2018 to 2022, he served as Vice Mayor and Harbor Island Commissioner of North Bay Village, leading the city’s sustainability, wellness, and housing efforts. He led the passage of the first ordinance limiting fertilizer usage to protect Biscayne Bay in Miami-Dade County. He also secured over $3 million for waterfront infrastructure projects to provide access to Miami residents. His signature accomplishment was leading the adoption of one of the first mandatory inclusionary workforce housing ordinances in Miami-Dade County.
Wilmoth earned a B.S. and M.B.A. from Florida A&M University and an M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University in New York.

Wilmoth is a board member of the Nyah Project, an organization that unlocks opportunities for underrepresented youth through college admissions and fellowships abroad. He also serves on the Board of Miami Waterkeeper, is a Miami Foundation Miami Fellow, a 2020 Presidential Leadership Scholar, and a Leadership Florida Connect Class VI graduate.
