Eric Eikenberg, the CEO of The Everglades Foundation, has announced that Geoffrey S. Mullins will join the Foundation as its director of Policy and Partnerships.

In his new capacity, Mullins will lead the Palmetto Bay-based Foundation’s efforts to maximize the impact of its partnerships with grantees and corporate partners. A former Capitol Hill aide with broad experience in Washington, he will work with the Foundation’s leadership and lobbying teams to develop and implement policy strategies in Tallahassee and Washington, DC.

Mullins has worked closely with the Foundation in his previous role as chief operating and communications officer of the

Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, where he oversaw the integration of communications and policy strategies designed to educate and engage partner organizations and businesses.

“Geoff Mullins brings a wealth of experience in bringing people and organizations together to pursue shared conservation goals,” Eikenberg said. “As our director of Policy and Partnerships, Geoff will lead The Everglades Foundation’s effort to build coalitions of individuals, organizations, and businesses to accelerate Everglades restoration.”

Mullins brings 20 years of experience in policy analysis, communications, coalition building, corporate partnerships and grassroots organizing. He has worked on Capitol Hill, in the private sector and in the nongovernmental organization sector.

An avid angler and sportsman, Mullins is a board member of Fly Fishers International and received the Conservation Service Award from Pheasants Forever.

“I am honored to be joining such a dedicated and passionate team at The Everglades Foundation where science and innovative solutions are the driving force for the future of this iconic ecosystem,” Mullins said. “I am personally drawn to the important mission of restoring America’s Everglades and the opportunity to engage new allies in telling the story of its many economic, environmental, and quality of life benefits for all Americans is extremely exciting.”

Mullins is a graduate of the University of Alabama and received a Master of Arts from the Graduate School of Political Management at The George Washington University.
