With renovations ending, Winn Dixie is welcoming new and established customers to its refreshingly remodeled location at 5850 S. W. 73 St. in the heart of downtown South Miami.

From a new exterior façade to an interior shopper-friendly layout, the totallymodernized supermarket has pulled out all stops for an official re-opening under the guidance of Jorge Hung, Manager, after eight years in the South Miami store during his 25-year Winn Dixie career.

“We’re excited for our customers, and what the store signifies by providing an informative, enjoyable shopping experience for the community,” says Hung.

“This location has always dedicated itself to provide premiere shopping, especially with dedicated customer service and constant attention to detail.”

Among features providing a refreshingly- new experience: organic produce, locally-grown vegetables and fruits, organic meats, a tempting display of wines and spirits, freshly-baked goods, and a newly-refurbished delicatessen with prime product specialties.

Other new additions:
• A sushi station with an on-site chef;
• A tank of live, fresh lobsters in the seafood section;
• A variety of salads, artisan cheeses, and hand crafted sandwiches;
• Succulent tres leches cakes, a Winn Dixie bakery specialty.

The sleek marble-fitted bar with hot foods is headed by Master Chef Robert Connors who expertly served a visitor freshly-made brisket samples, a tender and juicy, one of a dozen freshly-prepared entrees.

The interior cafe offers breakfast items with an adjacent dining area for shoppers to take a break and enjoy a cafecito treat.

To complete a gourmet take-out meal, customers can select from a tempting array of domestic and imported wines, beer and liquors in the newly-refurbished Wine and Spirits Department, right next to the floral displays of fresh bouquets, plants and holiday baskets that make romantic gifts.

The store has also taken a significant step into the new age through dedication to energy efficiency from storewide LED lighting to newly-installed display cases with conservation features. Store Wi-Fi capability, state-of-the-art checkout counters and USB outlets combine to process orders quickly.

“From front to rear, customers are noting a renewed aura of excellence and pride by staff members dedicated to serve the community,” noted Hung whose employee team recently collected hundreds of canned food items to benefit “Feeding South Florida,” one of 202 major U. S. food banks.

Winn-Dixie shopping hours are 7 a.m. to 12 midnight, seven days a week. For more information, call 305-666-5241.
