On Saturday, January 6, 2024, Palmer Trinity School (PTS) and Special Olympics Florida will be hosting a run/walk race on Palmer Trinity’s campus for individuals in the Special Olympics. The event, Unified Strides Track Invitational, promotes inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
WHO: Palmer Trinity School students, in collaboration with members of Special Olympics Florida, will actively engage in volunteer roles during the upcoming event. The participants scheduled to compete in the race are members of Special Olympics Florida. Special Olympics Florida provides year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities who wish to participate, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
