Palmer Trinity School (PTS) student, Katerina “Kati” Morin ’26, has been announced as a 2025 YoungArts award winner in the Theater/Musical category. Morin is among 800 of the most accomplished young artists ages 15-18 or in grades 10-12 to be selected from some 11,000 applicants. YoungArts award winners are presented with a cash prize of $250.

The national competition recognizes artists who demonstrate exceptional technique and a depth of thinking evident in their performances that surpasses that of their peers in the same career stage.

“I am incredibly grateful to my theater director at Palmer Trinity, Mrs. Celia Potter, who encouraged me to apply for the award and who has helped me dig deep to find the emotions needed to connect with songs for a stronger performance,” said Morin. “The school’s program has also helped me grow as an actress with countless opportunities to perform, including thespian competitions, musicals, plays and showcases.”

Morin is active in PTS’s theater program where she has participated in junior thespians and several school productions, including lead roles in Matilda (Matilda), Sister Act (Sister Mary Roberts), Chicago (Momma Morton) and Into the Woods (Witch).
