Palmer Trinity School has announced a series of innovative student-led projects harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to solve real-world problems and enhance the school community.
From practical tools for homeowners to AI assistants tailored to student learning, these projects highlight the creativity, technical skill, and community-minded focus of Palmer Trinity students.
Advanced Topics in Programming – Capstone Projects with AI
Led by Ivan Rico, the Advanced Topics in Programming course guides students through the full lifecycle of software development. Students explore design, prototyping, testing, and publication while leveraging AI tools to streamline their projects.
Beyond technical skills, the course encourages students to develop solutions that benefit their communities, teaching project management, problem-solving, and the practical application of AI in meaningful ways.
PermitPro – Simplifying home renovations with AI
Sisters Angela and Alexandra Gazarian developed PermitPro, an AI-powered model designed to simplify the complex process of home renovations. By providing clear guidance on required permits and building codes based on a user’s location and project details, PermitPro reduces frustration, prevents mistakes, and helps homeowners and contractors complete projects efficiently and safely.
Falcon Hub – Streamlining school schedules
Dominic Durso and his team created Falcon Hub, an iOS app that helps students navigate Palmer Trinity’s rotating seven-day school schedule. The app automatically updates for no-school days, displays the correct class periods, and offers a home-screen widget for quick access. Falcon Hub exemplifies how technology can make everyday student life more organized and manageable.
ChatPTS – A custom AI study assistant
Katerina Morin is developing ChatPTS, an AI assistant tailored specifically for Palmer Trinity students. Unlike generic chatbots, ChatPTS understands the school’s curriculum, vocabulary, and learning approach, providing thoughtful, context-aware responses to help students engage more deeply with their studies. The project aims to foster curiosity, confidence, and long-term learning by serving as a personalized study partner.
Centralized student announcements platform
Vincent Urdaneta is developing a centralized online platform for the Student Government Association (SGA) to facilitate efficient communication with the student body. This forum-style website will consolidate announcements, updates, and information in one accessible location, ensuring that students stay informed while strengthening the connection between the SGA and the broader school community.
“These projects demonstrate how our students are applying AI not just as a tool, but as a way to innovate, solve problems, and positively impact their communities,” said Patrick Roberts, head of school. “We are incredibly proud of their creativity, technical skills, and vision for the future.”
