The Village of Palmetto Bay is once again planning a large-scale 4th of July celebration in honor of America’s birthday. Beginning at 5 p.m. the area around Village Hall will turn into a massive Independence Day party featuring food vendors, live music, face painting, stilt walkers, LED robots and a fun zone with inflatables for the kids. The family-friendly event will culminate in a fireworks show

For the 9th year Michael Baiamonte returns as the Master of Ceremonies of the event. Known as the voice of the Miami Heat, Baiamonte has hosted a variety of events for Corporations and Organizations such as Top Rank Boxing, Ritz-Carlton, Hilton Hotels, NIKE, Assurant Solutions and Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

The National Anthem will be sung by Katerina Morin, a 16-year-old sophomore at Palmer Trinity School. She has been a part of the Miami Children’s Chorus since 2016.

Live music will be provided by Cutler Stew, a “hometown band” that’s been performing in South Florida since 2013. They play a lively mix of Rock, Alt Rock, Country and Pop favorites from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s.

When darkness begins to fall, the area will light up with an LED Robot Show as giant LED “robots” equipped with CO2 blasters and accompanied by LED dancers will lead into the 4th of July fireworks show itself.

Village staff anticipate a crowd of 10,000 spectators for the event and encourage everyone to arrive at 5 p.m. or earlier to make sure they find parking and stake out their viewing spot.

The best viewing areas for the fireworks show include the Village Hall parking lot, Franjo Road between SW 180 Street and S. Dixie Hwy., and the southeast open field area (directly east of softball field #6) at Palmetto Bay Park. These locations offer unobstructed views of the fireworks show and are still a safe distance from the fireworks launch area.

Event planners suggest that attendees bring lawn chairs, sunscreen, bug spray and are encouraged to dress in patriotic attire. However, personal fireworks and personal BBQ grills are not permitted near or within event premises.

Event sponsors include Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Baptist Health, The Town of
Cutler Bay, The Collection, Grove Bank & Trust, Panter, Panter & Sampedro P.A., Waste Collections of Florida, Palmer Trinity School, The Corradino Group and The Home Depot.

Village Hall is located at 9705 E. Hibiscus Street in Palmetto Bay.
